About Lisa Hyde Barrett
Lisa Hyde Barrett, RN, BSN, is a nurse leader with many years of dedicated bedside experience, recognised for a compassionate, patient-centred approach and a commitment to clinical excellence. She has a strong focus on mesothelioma and has supported many patients facing complex and life-altering diagnoses. Lisa played a key role in developing one of the first transitional mesothelioma programmes in Boston, designed to bridge the gap between acute hospital care and recovery at home. In collaboration with David Sugarbaker and the International Mesothelioma Program, she helped advance a model of care built around continuity and whole-person support rather than treating discharge as the end of care. She is deeply committed to helping patients and families navigate care with clarity and confidence, and to ensuring access to high-quality, personalised support during every stage of the mesothelioma journey.
