So I'm sitting here at 2 AM looking at my dad's old work records trying to figure out when he got exposed and it hit me that I have no idea if this stuff is even still in products or if it's just a legacy thing. Like is someone right now installing asbestos insulation in a new building somewhere.
I work in healthcare so I should probably know this but honestly my training was more about what to do after exposure, not current regulations. My dad was in construction from the 60s through the 90s so his exposure is old, but I'm paranoid about my kids being around something I don't understand.
Is it banned or just restricted. What's actually still legal to use. And if it's still out there, where. I feel like I should have asked this months ago instead of just managing his palliative care without understanding the full picture of how he got here in the first place.
