Community Guidelines

Our community exists to support mesothelioma patients, caregivers, veterans, and families. These guidelines help us keep this space safe, respectful, and genuinely helpful.

1. Be Kind and Respectful

Everyone here is dealing with something difficult. Treat every person with compassion. Personal attacks, harassment, and disrespectful language are never acceptable.

2. Share Your Experience, Not Medical Advice

You are welcome to share what worked for you, what your doctor recommended, and how you felt during treatment.
Do not present personal experiences as universal medical advice.
Never recommend specific medications, dosages, or treatments as though you are a medical professional (unless you are one and identify yourself as such).
Always encourage others to consult their doctor for medical decisions.

3. Protect Your Privacy

Use a first name or pseudonym — never share your full name, address, phone number, or other identifying information.
Do not share other people's personal information without their consent.
All posts are reviewed by moderators before they appear publicly.

4. No Solicitation or Spam

Do not advertise products, services, law firms, or medical practices.
Do not post links to commercial websites or solicit business.
Sharing legitimate nonprofit resources and support organizations is welcome.

5. Legal Discussions

You may share your experience with the legal process, filing claims, or working with attorneys.
Do not provide specific legal advice or make guarantees about outcomes.
Our legal team may respond to questions with general guidance, clearly identified as from a verified attorney.

6. Stay on Topic

Posts should relate to mesothelioma, asbestos exposure, cancer treatment, caregiving, veterans' issues, or the emotional journey of living with a serious illness. Off-topic posts may be removed or redirected.

7. Expert Responses

Some replies are marked with an "Expert Response" or "Best Answer" badge. These come from verified medical professionals, attorneys, or social workers associated with our platform. While these responses are reviewed for accuracy, they are educational — not a substitute for personal consultation.

8. Moderation

All posts and replies are reviewed before they appear publicly.
Our moderation team may edit posts to remove identifying information or ensure compliance with these guidelines.
Posts that violate these guidelines will not be published. Repeat violations may result in being blocked from posting.
Moderation decisions are final.

9. Reporting Concerns
