Synopsis

Documents the "Amazon Chernobyl" — the lawsuit by 30,000 indigenous Ecuadorians against Chevron (formerly Texaco) for dumping 18 billion gallons of toxic waste into the Amazon rainforest over 26 years.

Our Review

The scale of contamination in Crude dwarfs almost any other corporate negligence case. But the pattern is identical to asbestos: a corporation extracts profit from a region, knowingly poisons the population, leaves, and then spends decades fighting accountability in court.
